English Extravaganza 2025 “English Speaking: Unlocking Global Opportunities.”
The
English Extravaganza 2025 was successfully held for two consecutive days on October, 22–23 2025, under the theme “Celebrating
English through Artistic Expression.” The event aimed to encourage students’
creativity and appreciation of English through various artistic performances
and academic engagement.
Day 1 – October, 22 2025
The
first day began with an opening ceremony held at the Auditorium Student Center.
The event was attended by the competition participants and several
distinguished guests, including Mrs. RR.
Dewi Wahyu Mustikasari Ph.D as the Head of the English Education
Department, Mrs. Dr. Maslihah, M.Si.
as the Vice Dean of Teacher Training and Education Faculty, and Mrs. Dra. Ulfah Susilawati, M.S.I as the Secretary of the English
Education Department.
The ceremony opened with a warm welcoming address from Mrs. RR. Dewi Wahyu Mustikasari Ph.D
who expressed her appreciation for the committee’s hard work and highlighted
the importance of English as a medium of creativity and cultural expression.
She encouraged all participants to see the event not merely as a competition
but as a platform for growth and collaboration. Following her, Mrs. Dra. Ulfah Susilawati, M.S.I shared her hopes that
English Extravaganza would continue to be a space where students from various
educational backgrounds could express themselves confidently through English. Mrs. Dr. Maslihah, M.Si., in her remarks, emphasized
the significance of maintaining enthusiasm in promoting English learning
through art and performance. She officially declared the event open, marking
the beginning of two days filled with creativity and academic spirit.
Following
the opening, the competitions commenced. The Singing Contest took place at the FTIK Auditorium on the 3rd floor,
while the Traditional Dance Competition
was held simultaneously at the Auditorium Student Centre. The Storytelling Competition was conducted
online, with participants submitting their performances through recorded
videos. All competitions showcased remarkable talent and creativity from
students across various schools and institutions. This year’s
competitions featured participants from various high schools, vocational schools, and universities around
Salatiga, all showcasing their artistic skills and English
proficiency under the event’s festive atmosphere.
Day 2 – October 23,
2025
The
second day featured the International
Seminar themed “English Speaking: Unlocking Global Opportunities.”
The event was attended by around 350
participants from various study programs and public audiences. The seminar
began with opening speeches from Hendri
Kurniawanas the Chief Organizer, Sinta
Mutiara Sani as the Chief of SAEED
2025, and Mrs. RR. Dewi Wahyu
Mustikasari Ph.D as the Head of the English Education Department. The
seminar was moderated by Azza Musta’anudin featuring two
distinguished speakers: Mr. Obed
Marshall Diaz from Mountain View International School and Mr. Wildi Adila, M.A from UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta.
Both
speakers emphasized the importance of English proficiency as a gateway to
education, career, and networking opportunities. They highlighted how English
serves as a bridge connecting people globally through communication, empathy,
and creativity. Mr. Obed Marshall Diaz discussed the value of captivating
communication and personal branding, encouraging students to use English as a
tool for inspiration and self-expression. Meanwhile, Mr. Wildi Adila, M.A
shared insights on mastering English as a lifelong journey, stressing the role
of linguistic competence in global industries such as MICE (Meetings,
Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Both sessions inspired participants
to view English not merely as a subject but as a life skill that empowers
individuals to engage confidently in the global community.
After
the seminar, the event proceeded with a closing
ceremony led by Mrs. Maslihah,
followed by the announcement of
competition winners from Day 1:

The
event concluded with a special
performance by the Wildside Band, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere
among participants and guests. The two-day program ran smoothly and
successfully, leaving a lasting impression of enthusiasm, collaboration, and
artistic celebration within the English Education community.
