TBI COLOR’S UNITY ENGLISH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT 2025
Salatiga, on Saturday and Sunday, September 27–28 2025, the Student Association of Tadris Bahasa Inggris (HMPS TBI) successfully held an event entitled TBI Color’s Unity with the theme “Together We Shine, United We Grow.” The two-day program was designed for the freshmen of Tadris Bahasa Inggris and aimed to strengthen solidarity, introduce academic culture, and foster enthusiasm among the new students.
The first day took place at the 3rd Floor Auditorium of FTIK, UIN Salatiga, beginning at 08.30 a.m. The program was opened by the formal masters of ceremony, Maysa Aulia Hapsari and Hendri Kurniawan, followed by the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Afifah Sofiah Al’Ulya. The participants then sang the Indonesian national anthem and UIN Salatiga’s march, led by conductor Arselia Putri. The opening continued with welcoming remarks from Denisa Rahma Aulia Yim as the Head of the Committee, Sinta Mutiara Sani as the Head of HMPS TBI 2025, and Dr. RR. Dewi Wahyu Mustikasari, S.S., M.Pd., Ph.D. as the Head of the English Education Department. A prayer was then delivered by Binar Ahsan Latif.
The academic session began with the introduction of the moderator by the MC, after which Arya Sanishara Nanda Setiawan read the curriculum vitae of the speaker. Afifah Hasna Syifa, S.Pd. presented the main material on LKMDO. The session covered the differences between high school students and university students, the various typologies of students, the four essential roles of students, the characteristics of an ideal student, as well as the importance of networking and personal branding. The presentation was followed by an interactive Question and-Answer session, in which participants raised questions related to mindset, the role of students as agents of change, and strategies for bridging generational gaps. The speaker emphasized the need for independence, critical thinking, and proof through action in addressing such challenges. After the discussion, the freshmen joined a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), where they worked in groups to create digital posters summarizing the material using Canva and presented their work through representatives. The session was followed by a break for Ishoma (rest, pray, and lunch), and later proceeded to the election of the Chairman of TBI 2025, facilitated by the non formal MCs, Yulita Anggraini and Widura Imam Saputra. The students elected Muhamad Istova Alfarizy as the chairman and Gilang Alfian Imansyah as the deputy. The first day ended smoothly, with active participation and enthusiasm from all students.
The second day was held at SDN Pulutan 2, where the freshmen gathered at 07.30 a.m. The program began with an opening by the non-formal MCs, Yulita Anggraini and Widura Imam Saputra, followed by a morning exercise session led by an instructor. The lively exercise created an energetic atmosphere before the participants prepared for their art performances. For thirty minutes, the freshmen changed costumes, did make-up, and rehearsed briefly before presenting the performances they had prepared over the previous two weeks. Each class performed in turn, with the order determined by a spin wheel. All three classes delivered remarkable performances that showcased creativity, teamwork, and dedication.
Following the performances, the students changed back into sportswear for a series of fun games. Exciting activities such as word guessing, cardboard jumping, balloon snake, and rubber band relay brought joy and laughter to the field. Afterward, the participants had a break for Ishoma, before gathering again with the committee members for a warm and cheerful gift exchange. Sitting in a circle, each person passed their gift around as music played, and the exchange created a memorable bonding moment. To close the event, everyone joined together to record a commemorative video, capturing the unity and happiness of the two-day program. The event was officially closed by the non-formal MCs, marking the conclusion of TBI Color’s Unity 2025.
TBI Color’s Unity 2025 was a successful and meaningful program. Across two days, the freshmen not only received valuable insights about academic life and student leadership but also engaged in collaborative discussions, artistic performances, and entertaining games. The election of the Chairman and Deputy of TBI 2025 marked an important step in building the identity and solidarity of the new cohort. The combination of formal and informal activities ensured that the freshmen could learn, express themselves, and connect with one another. The event truly embodied its theme: Together We Shine, United We Grow. Written by Nadya Rahma Nur’aini
