 ISLAMIC STUDY



     Salatiga, on Wednesday 5th of July 2023, the Student Association of English Education Department (SAEED) held an Islamic Study with the theme "Islamic Perspectives on Technology: Ethical Considerations, Challenges, and Implications" which was held in the Gazebo FTIK, Campus 3, UIN Salatiga. This Islamic study was opened with a welcoming speech from the chief of an Islamic Study committee, Happyta Virgiyandini and it was attended by SAEED 2023 committees.
Presenting Mr. Muhammad Mas'ud, M.Pd.I. lecturer at UIN Salatiga as the speaker. This Islamic study was started by the moderator, Rizqi Pratama, who asked about the topic of technology in the Al-Quran. Mr. Mas'ud then explained that surah Al-Alaq verses 1-5 already discusses technology, namely human formation. Other examples include video calls, an airplane that can penetrate space, and can find good mineral water to drink, all of which are in the Quran as a book human manual. 
     The discussion continues with how we face challenges in this modern era, which is self-management and prioritization. Mr. Mas'ud also conveyed the positive and negative impacts of technology in the view of Islam. 
  • Positive Impacts such as:
  1. Can be easy to stay in touch
  2. A lot of information can be gotten
  • Negative Impacts such as:
  1. Your work will become a mess if you can't manage yourself.
  2. Written language has the potential for fitnah more than people who directly convey their intentions
And not least, the speaker also mentioned the verses of the Quran that talk about technology.

    After the material presentation and discussion session, the moderator opened a question-and-answer session for participants. All sessions went well and the speaker was excellent in giving explanations. Mr. Mas'ud's closing statement was "Realize love with the Quran, because with love it can change everything." The event closed with a group photo, handing over certificates and parcels by the Chief of the Islamic Study Committee to the speakers.

  Ramadhan Talks and Treats “Marriage Readiness: Tips for Ta'aruf ” On Tuesday, the 11 th of March, 2025, the Student Association of the English Education Department (SAEED) successfully organized the Ramadhan Talks and Treats event with the theme “ Marriage Readiness: Tips for Ta'aruf”. The event took place at Mosque at Campus 3 of UIN Salatiga and was attended by students from various study programs and invited delegates. Before the main event began, the organizing committee held a Qur'an recitation (khatam) as a form of spiritual reflection to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan. The formal event commenced at 4:00 PM, moderated by Fika Febriana.
