Training Graphic Design

 

     Salatiga, March 19th, 2023, Student Association of English Education Department (SAEED) held a Training Graphic Design with the theme "Develop Graphic Design Skills to Support Productivity in the 5.0 Era" which was held in the hall of Darul Amal Mosque, Salatiga. This agenda was officially opened by Nadi Fatul Angel Eka Putri, as the Chief of Training Graphic Design committee and it was attended by SAEED 2023. Presenting the speaker Mr. Amirudin Khorul Huda, M.Kom from UNIKOM Yogyakarta, he explained about some materials, tips, and tricks for learning graphic design focused through the Canva application. In his presentation, he mentioned that graphic design is a combination of existing elements of individual thinking into something that is easy to understand and also contains clear information, principles, and goals. Graphic design includes several types of designs that we always encounter, such as book/journal covers, pamphlets, activity banners, wedding bills, certificate designs, etc. The classification related to elements, principles, and functions and objectives, as follows.

Elements:

1. Size, contrast, and emphasis (emphasis),

2. Images,

3. Lines and planes,

4. Typography,

5.Color;

Principles:

1. Balance of composition,

2. Emphasis,

3. Rhythm/pattern/pattern,

4. Unity;

Functions and purpose:

1. As aesthetics,

2. Functional,

3. Technique,

4. Communication.

The event went smoothly and closed with a group photo, handing over certificates and parcels by the Chief of Training Graphic Design committee to the speakers.
